On March 29, 2016, PSCDF sent a team of five highly respected American clinicians and scientists on an inaugural visit with eight Cuban delegates. The exchange consisted of a 5-day trip of engaging discussions, visits to hospitals in Havana and rural areas, and meetings with national healthcare institutions.
The purpose of the U.S-Cuba Scientific Exchange Program is to connect leading diabetes specialists, both in type 1 and type 2, to exchange ideas and further the scientific understanding of diabetes and its complications. As the best diabetes research organization, we understand the value of an exchange of knowledge. The goal is to develop lasting relationships based on improving sciences for diabetes research, prevention, and management in both nations. The program paves the way for shared medical approaches, technologies, and studies in the field of diabetes.
