Dr. Nadège Sheehan is the Co-Founder and President of OneGuild Institute (also known as Peter Sheehan Diabetes Care Foundation), where she leads efforts to advance innovation in diabetes prevention, care, and limb preservation, with a strong focus on health equity and underserved communities.
Trained as an economist specializing in international security and peacebuilding, Dr. Sheehan began her career analyzing the economics of UN peacekeeping and authored The Economics of UN Peacekeeping (Routledge, 2011), the first comprehensive economic analysis of peacekeeping operations.
Following the passing of her husband, Dr. Peter Sheehan - a pioneering leader in diabetes care - she and her son, Patrick Sheehan, co-founded what is now OneGuild Institute to continue his vision and expand it toward a more integrated, human-centered model of health innovation. In 2025, she launched the Peace & Health Initiative, linking health, education, and peacebuilding to strengthen resilience in fragile and underserved settings.
Dr. Sheehan’s work bridges global health, equity, and peacebuilding - fostering collaboration across science, policy, and community leadership to transform the future of diabetes care and beyond.
